From Death Valley to Sin City

This is Death Valley, the driest place on Earth. At 282 feet below sea level, it is also the deepest depression in America. It’s home to rattlesnakes, scorpions, black widows, salt-resistant pickle-weed and drought-resistant pupfish.  For two long years I called this place a home too. My little hiding spot was steps away from here, in the valley right behind these blue mountains. That’s as much as I can tell you. Don’t bother looking for it on Google Maps – because you won’t find it. From space it looks like a bunch of tweeds on the hot sand. Nothing more. Here I spent 726 days and 726 nights of my young life.  Now I am finally free to go.  And I go.
It’s not good and not bad.  I don’t really feel emotional about it.  You can call me insensitive or callous. I’m neither. I am just busy walking trying to reach the town before the sunset. And yes, my skin became thick in the desert. Scorpions can’t pierce it any more. In the last two years I spent more time with animals than with people. And I need to tell you: animals feel pain too, and they too can be lonely. But they don’t talk  about it. Neither do I.

This earth is caked with salt deposits that were left behind when all the water evaporated some 12,000 years ago. There used to be a blue lake here, a gorgeous one, and it was full of fish. And then the Climate changed again.
It's 4:30 in the morning. Two hours till sunrise. It's +41C on the surface, but just beneath the surface the ground is cool and welcoming.  I just checked:

Rocks and salt can be seen to the very horizon. An insurmountable terrain for even the best of vehicles.

However, there is an exception.  Ladies and gentlemen, you will now see how life life at 282 feet below sea level can be glamorous.

Now we are ready for the sunrise!

I meet the Sun, and with it civilization at the nearest gas-station. Good-bye, Death Valley! Hello, America!
Good Bye, Depression (-282feet)! And Welcome the American Dream! Here, in the wild West it comes in 4 major sizes: Large:

Extra Large:

 Gigantic:

and "original size":

The problem here is to find your own match. To find the right size that fits you. And this can get complicated:
If it does not fit, you just need to keep trying:

and trying until it feels good:

...or not:

But what if nothing feels good? Or what if it feels good, but not good enough? Then a good thing to do would be to change the depth of angle:

And then, may be ... just may be,  no guarantee at all, you may finally like what you see:

Or you may see what you like:

It's midday. +49C, Sin City! American values are being protected and preserved here:

...this is the View I was devoid o for 726 days and 726 nights in the Desert. Shocking:
Please, comrades in the industry, advise me now: what is more important: to compose or to focus the picture?

Quite shocking even for a former hermit. Can't really focus/or compose:

I know what you think: "Kevin, it's going to be dangerous! Think twice, or thrice..." ... but the escalator is already taking me up...

and up... My dangerous journey is about to begin, so, please, follow the adventures of  CowboyKevin on his way to New York across America. I am ready to gamble anything to make my trip home a huge success!
